some person said that they assemble the vans with components from various factories in and around melb an do not actually manufacture the various pieces their selves which would mean they could use the best suppliers or the cheapest I know not which, but the ones I have seen look the part. can anyone comment on there aftersales service

Yes it appears that different models are made by different builders.

Some builders are/were : Condor, Domain, Kingdom, Cosycab Caravans, Lagoon

cut an pasted from another thread

For those who are curious about Kokoda vans,as previous posts have stated, they market a large range of vans using different manufacturers, according to the model. Some builders only build one, others several. Find out the builder for the model you're interested in, then do you research. It is a brilliant concept to me. A selection of boutique caravan builders get plenty of work and the consumer still gets the advantage of a small builder, but the price of production line building. Warranty is good too, first contact is the builder, then the seller, then finally Kokoda if you still have an issue.

it seem that it is a consortium of about 10 builders

it seem if you go looking you can find fault with anything or anyone an I have not yet found a lower end priced caravan that someone has not been happy with

another cut an paste

We have a two and half year old Kokoda, that we were originally happy with, but, unfortunately, no longer. We have only used it twice, at 3 months each time, and on both trips, it has blown the front window in. No one knows why this is happening, and are not interested in fixing it. We also have a big twist in the roof, and the flooring is lifting over all the floor joins, and no one is interested in fixing those either. Just tell us that it is well out of warranty, so dont bother us. Will never buy another Kokoda, and would not recommend to anyone

this is the next part

Latest update on the Kokoda problem van, contacted both Condor, the manufacturer, and Mr Kokoda, both of whom are totally not willing to to do anything. Both have said that 1 year warranty is up, but according to Conusmer Affairs, that is not so, they at least must make some effort to rectify the situation. Was hoping not to have to go down this path!

Had ours a few months now. One or two issues, but the dealer has been very helpful, including (the builder) supplying a new sola panel at cost price after I found a way to get it smashed no

Ours was build by Skytrax in Melbourne. I've made some previous comments in this forum but generally we're very happy with our purchase.

Would I buy another one...most definitely! biggrin

it seem if you go looking you will find a unhappy camper in any owners discussion group as with most brands it is the after sales service that makes the difference and if you read the owners group web pages an on forums you will soon work out which dealers the good ones

More likely it is one of the several manufacturers who made/make vans for Kokoda.

Hi Kevin
Collected our X trail in December and January started 4 months in the east. Have had 3 minor (should not have happen) issues all fixed with minium of fuss via our dealer, the manufacturer(Skytrax) and the supplier of the equipment all bent over to help. Have yet to do any real off road stuff but very happy with the purchase .Different to tow than the lighter Coramal gets sucked into trucks passing you and due to height it is wind affected No other probelms all good

Hello
Is anyone aware who manufactures the Kokoda Armalite pop top caravan. While I do like this Kokoda models, there is some customisation I would like to discuss with the actual manufacturer.
