There's heaps more and many are still making music (thank god).
That is an impressive list............... Sad thing is they will all go like those before them.....it will however be a pleasure listening to their music for years to come......and the best thing is even my children love listening to them.......long live the sixties

Makes you wonder how some of them are still kicking after all the booze and drugs they've ingested, inhaled or injected. At least my namesake is still on the list and thankfully is still 3 years older than me!

The musical Bye Bye Birdie made it's debut on Broadway in 1960 and included this song
KIDS Kids! I don't know what's wrong with these kids today! Kids! Who can understand anything they say? Kids! They a disobedient, disrespectful oafs! Noisy, crazy, dirty, lazy, loafers! While we're on the subject: Kids! You can talk and talk till your face is blue! Kids! But they still just do what they want to do! Why can't they be like we were, Perfect in every way? What's the matter with kids today? Kids! I've tried to raise him the best I could Kids! Kids! Laughing, singing, dancing, grinning, morons! And while we're on the subject! Kids! They are just impossible to control! Kids! With their awful clothes and their rock an' roll! Why can't they dance like we did What's wrong with Sammy Kaye? What's the matter with kids today!
Perhaps you may remember Dick van Dyke having a hit with it back then.
Same complaint from every generation KJ. It's nothing new.
You're right there Phantom. I knew I was getting "old" when I started yelling at my kids to turn that noise down - just like my Dad used to yell at me :)
I don't know about you troopy but except for maybe Hendrix the rest are easy to understand.

I agree Kev, but if he has trouble with modern bands, then he wouldn't understand the screaming by some of the older bands either. Anyway, I like a lot of different performers and bands, from to 60's to current day stuff as well.

We have music probably 22 hours a day in the MH - extremely varied from the 50's to probably late 70's - 80's doesn't do it at all. We love Bob Marley - my fave of his is Buffalo Soldier - met an old couple in Gympie one time, who actually went to Bob's funeral - they lived in Jamaica at the time.
Rod Stewart is a favourite - seems to get better as he gets older.

What about James Reyne. Even after reading the lyrics I still cannot understand him. Except, of course, for The Boys Light Up. That is easy because he repeats the line at least 8,000 times.
Well seeing as I was in town today for my 6 monthly haircut, I bought this CD. It's one of the first LPs I bought when I was earning a few dollars
It's one that I have been meaning to buy since my vinyl LP is on fair condition, and not really any good to ecode to MP3. Should be good on the new sound system .
On a sadder note, while I was in the store buying the CD, the young bloke behind the counter told me about Glen Frey dying . As the founding member of The Eagles it is another sad loss.
