Most blind makers will make them to fit anywhere - I think even Spotlight or one of the curtain shops - was thinking along those lines myself.

Hi We did ours with blinds from spotlight.  You need a couple of tools.  A straight edge, a sharp stanley knife and a hacksaw for the aluminium roller.

A couple of things to watch for.  our windows were 120 cm wide, however a 120 cm wide blind only covers 117cm of window so we had to go to the wider width to get full coverage of the window.  We then cut back the length of the blind from the top edge at the roller.  It just slips into a slot in the roller so is not hard to shorten. We then cut the width back and adjusted the roller width accordingly.   I used the excess material for the pelmets and door curtain to make them match.

I fitted blinds on four windows in our van ,I bought them from spotlight as close  to the window size as I could get, and then I cut them to size with a mitre saw, hold them tight  rolled up and cut them with the mitre saw,it does the job perfect, cuts  through the material and aluminium perfect.

also welcome to the Forum.

Our caravan is an older one with the wind out windows how did you fit your blinds?can you take a picture?just wondering if the blinds would sit too far out and lose heat or cool from aircon or allow heat or cold air in if sitting too far out thanks

Hi

Our van is a coromal 2011 lifestyle

Our windows are a mix of windout and sliding.  There were already pelmets for the curtains so I was lucky enough just to use them, however the pictures show how you could do it by attaching a timber top.  I have showed both set ups. The brackets go downwards not outwards this keeps the blind close to the window and under the pelmet taking less room.  I also failed to mention in my first reply that you also need to shorten the chain.  You can buy the chain joiners at spotlight also.  Just make sure the joiner is at the bottom so that it does not have to go through the roller.  My pelmet is just attached with Velcro. very easy to clean and staples work well.  I did however purchase a venetian blind for over the sink.  Got that from Coromal.  To keep light out make sure you go past the window a bit to get full coverage.  Spotlight have the blinds at 40% off at the moment.  If you were in Cairns you could come and have a look.  It really was not hard to do.

First blind done not hard just fiddley. Bought blinds at Lincraft 40% off so pleased thanks all for your replies some images of how to set blinds  into pelmet if anyone wants to do them, also if any ideas for keeping the front blind in place as the angle of front of van makes blind drop straight down we have tucked it behind the curtain wire that was already there at the moment thought about Velcro but blinds would get finger marks when anchoring them all the time

once again thanks for your help on this forum cheers

We make blinds for Caravans on 32mm or 28mm tube depending on requirements, they can be spring loaded or traditional chain control. Blinds come with lock down clips so you can travel with the blinds down. We have both single blind or a dual blind system so you can run a blockout and sunscreen blind. Drop and email to info@taylorandstirling.com.au and we can quote on your window sizes. Or visit www.taylorandstirling.com.au/indoor-curtains-blinds/caravan-blinds-curtains/ for images of jobs. We can post to you or you can stay for a few days in Ballarat, while we make them for you.
