Tattoos Do you like em or not. Have you got one.???

Seems these days every second person has a tat.  Interested in the views of nomads,  Do you like them or not???   Are you tattooed.

Personally  Not tattooed.    My thoughts,  Some seem OK but these full sleeves and facial tattoos I do not like.

Cheers  Daz

I have one, but it is nearly always covered.
Some of these young ones who have full sleeves or tribal tattoos may regret their decision in future years.
However each to his or her own.

I got a small one around 40 years ago, never liked it, but no one will ever see it, so it doesn't matter.

Some tribal patterns and pictures look OK, but others place random "blobs" down their limbs without any thought of design, looks tacky.

Many put names and sometimes pictures of deceased partner/family etc.  As a Spiritualists, you don't need to do this, you're loved ones will always be with you when you talk to them.  And your new partner will always be sleeping with the "Ex"!!!!!!

I wonder if they'll regret what they've done when they get old and look at their Marriage photo's covered in ink?

Imagine in 60 years time, the geriatric homes full of oldies with sagging tatts lol.

I see young blokes covered in tatts. Stupid. They don't know any better.

I see young girls with tatts. Also stupid but they don't know any better either.

I see Old Mate wearing a singlet in cold weather so everyone can see his tatts. Totally stupid because he should know better.

But the worst is the 50 to 60 year old ladies with tatts, saggy arms and tits. How they ever think that a few tatts enhances their desirability tells me that they are off the planet. Total bogans.

I agree 100% Phantom, and also the Nut Cases making those big holes in their ear lobes. To me Tatts and that rubbish are only saying look at me, sounds like a lack of self confidence to me. After 76 years the most I have are a few stitches from having Sun Spots removed.

Simmo.............................OK I expect some flack, but I am well rehearsed.

And a quick message to supermarket managers:
Do NOT hire checkout persons who have silver rings hanging from their noses or lips. It's disgusting.
To the owners of such things, if you want them, OK, but take them out before you go to work.

Final comment:

In the US, tatts are known as tramp stamps. Nuff said.

Spot on tonyd, some people might call us cranky old buggers, but at least we are right. Those rings and stuff are UGLY, UGLY, UGLY.

"live and let live" - after all beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And no I don't have tats (husband has grandies names and birthdates on a shoulder) and I am glad our grand daughter has no piercings and only a small tat on her thigh

Tatoos are totally dumb so are most of the younger generation that have them. Has anyone noticed that the females that get tatoos, piercings & dye their hair are mostly ugly ones trying to get noticed? They end up looking like blokes! The really attractive ones don't need any of that garbage to look great. If you travel overseas you don't see as many females with tatoos as you do in Australia. The women are better looking too. sprint.gif

In Dublin fair city, where the girls are so pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I was sitting in my doctor's waiting room and I was surrounded by people with tattoos. One guy, probably in his 40s, had grotesque tattoos all over his arms, legs, torso and head. I doubt that there would have been any area of skin that hadn't been mutilated.

Another woman, also in her 40s, had tattoos covering both her arms, from hand to shoulder. I was on the verge of retching when another woman, in her late 20s or early 30s, sat directly opposite me. She also had full length tattoos on her arms, plus some on her neck and chest. She had piercings along the length of her ear and studs in her nose and eyebrow. Her fingers and toes were covered in fading black nail polish. She had a can of Red Bull which she sipped through a straw every 2 or 3 minutes. It seemed like she was on a caffeine drip.

I left the surgery sicker than when I arrived.

Latest news on the medical front has found that people with full sleeve tattoos have been developing Lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic cells) at a much greater rate than the general populace. The reason for this is not known at this time.

I have no tats even after serving with the senior service but my son, son-in-law & daughter -in -law all have varying numbers.

I live near the Govt. housing estate, opposite the showgrounds Melb.

If these people are suppose to be disadvantaged or poor, why are they covered in tatts, and have expensive Iphones?

Obviously have more money than me!!

I don't have tats and I don't find them particularly attractive but having tats does not make one stupid and one doesn't have to be stupid to have tats. There is a great diversity among people that should be accepted and celebrated rather than being the basis of criticism and condemnation.

I agree with The Phantom and Young Simmo - but I guess its like many other things we can choose in life - some like, some hate. How about all the people that take Ice for example - many are well educated and wealthy - not ferals. boguns or tramps.

Today I was sitting in a shopping centre food hall and a woman in her late 50s sat down nearby. Her arms had been heavily tattooed years ago, but her skin and underlying muscle had sagged and it looked bloody terrible - and you couldnt work out what the original pattern was supposed to be

Then the hubbie sat down a few mins later and he had so much metal in his body ears (multiple in each), lips, nose - I was just glad we weren't standing alongside each other at the toilet trough nearby. These hunks of metal were fairly new (much newer than his wife) and he just looked like a dork !!! Both were well dressed - but looked feral

And loved the amusing remarks by brickies, dorian and the rocket - very funny :)))

Yeh Bruce and Bev, somebody else said somewhere that people get tats because they are ugly and want to distract from their Ugliness. I wont comment on that as I am a gentleman, but Rings and Loops etc  hanging from the Nose Ears and Lips is sickening. OK, there must be a 2%er out there that is going to come after me, I am ready, Oop's I got the left boxing glove on the right hand..........When I was growing up I thought for many, many years that as we got older we got wiser then bugger, I joined the Grey Nomads and changed my opinion. They didn't tell me back in 1950 that there are different people around. Any body agree??????????

Little,,,,,,,,,,,,, Old Simmo

To quote Evelyn Beatrice Hall,

" I disaprove of what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it"

Put a different way could it not be,

"I disaprove of the way that you look but I respect your right to look that way"

I have a tattoo of a laced monitor clinging to my left arm.

It was my 50th birthday present from my sons and I rather like it.

I can respect all views on this topic as it is a choice whether you like or dislike tattoos.

I have seen some horrid ink work but on the other hand have seen some that are really nice and tasteful

Cheers

Seems to be a lot of strongly judgmental views in here on this subject.
Must be that members didn't grow up during the rebellious 60's and 70's like I did.

Hard for people to shock me after my own behavior so i am much more accepting.
And amused at the extent they have to go to shock.
Hair over my ears nearly gave my dad a coronary.

To each their own, I am not a fan of dreadlocks or excessive piercing but whatever floats their boat.

Oh and I do have a few Tatts too.
:) :) :)
