Christmas time is here again knocking on the door

All the children's happy faces, tinsel on the floor

Outside the house is decorated, a painting and lots of lights

A maze of styles and colours to brighten up the night

At sunset you hear the children, all the oohs and aahs

Then you make them smile by handing out candy bars

The tree is up, all decorated, the oven's fired up

Pork, ham and turkey, vegies with gravy on top

There are drinks, lollies and munchies placed around the table

And after that the pudding if you think you're able

And then the kids go out to play while the oldies have a snooze

The others, well they're inside drinking all your booze

All the leftovers are packed away for the evening feed

That ham you thought was way too small is more than you will need

And then at night as you sit around and talk of days gone by

Conversation turns to those, no longer by our side

But they wouldn't want us saddened you can see them every night

Just look up to heaven there's a star that burns so bright

So have a merry Christmas and enjoy the festive cheer

And this year let us celebrate for those that can't be here
