That's excellent news! We stayed at Wyperfeld NP just before the fee hike last year and paid around $20 per night. We'd given up all hope of staying there again when it almost doubled, and had decided not to stay at Hattah Kulkyne. Now they're back on the travel list!! Hooray!! Good to see also that there's a further 5% discount for the shoulder season, and 10% for the off-peak season (1 May - start of Melbourne cup weekend) as well as the 10% concession discount!!

Nice to see something moving in the right direction for a change!!!

Thanks for that post Neil - note that these are National Parks -the one called Bear Gully, is not far from Wilson's Promontory camping area, with the same views and beautiful beaches. Bear Gully used to be free for years - lovely spot. Also the ones in The Grampians used to be free.

Victoria should take a leaf out of SA's book when it comes to charging for Camping in National Parks. Not $28 per night, rather $77 for 2 MONTHS!! We have used their passes a number of times and reckon they're very fair.

We've also noticed many fellow travellers who seem to think it's OK to avoid payment altogether, judging by their late arrival and early departure and the fact that they don't display a valid pass on their windscreen.

Places like Beachport, Carpenters Rocks, Port Lincoln and the Flinders Ranges for example all have NPs that charge to camp. Why people "steal" their accommodation speaks volumes about them.

Buy a pass and do the right thing you bludgers. As for Victoria, your Parks are still way too expensive even with the newly announced rates.

$28 per night for no power/showers/toilets is still ridiculously overpriced
