100 Series Toyota heating

Hi everyone

Has any one had trouble with their Toyota 100 Series heating for no apparent reason. We have tried so many things so any help is most welcome.

Thanks

Sandra

turned out to be the radiator cap even though it checked ok on the tester new cap an good for 6-9 months new cap an ok again so look for simple things first

To my experience the first thing to replace is the thermostat they are the first thing to cause over heating after making sure that air flow through the front of the radiator has not been blocked with trash bugs ect also check or have checked the thermo fan hub they do eventually give trouble ie not driving at the required speed oh and of course make sure the fan belt is in good condition and tight and that the pully the belt it runs in is good not worn down and there for the belt can't get enough grip to drive the fan in the first place
Had trouble on my harvester this year getting hot replaced the fan drive belts and hey presto cool engine again

Please explain yourself. When you say "Has any one had trouble with their Toyota 100 Series heating."

Gday...

The reasons for an engine overheating (assuming you are asking about an overheating 100 Series Toyota engine) are manifold and pretty difficult to cover in a posted reply on a forum.

This information may help -

http://www.aa1car.com/library/overheat.htm

Apart from the info contained in that site, things such as fitting of driving lights or anything else that reduces the available airflow to and through the radiator and/or grille could be contributing.

Cheers - and hope you find the cause - John

Sandra, try looking on the Landcruiser online forum: www LCOOL.ORG. Plenty of posts about all Landcruisers. This is real people experiences not someone's opinions.
