Hi everyone, just saw this on FB and thought you might like to have a read and a squizz at a ute that was pulled over by Police in NSW, they called RMS heavy vehicle inspectors who weighed the ute. The detail is in the story.

About 8:30am today Traffic & HWP Officers from Mosman were conducting stationary enforcement southbound along Spit Rd, where a silver falcon utility was pulled over, that looked obviously over loaded. Upon uncovering the tarp police sighted 50 pavers with an individual weight of 7.7kg and an alleged 1ton of sand in the tray. RMS heavy vehicle inspectors were contacted and attended.
The utes GVM is 2420kg, the ute was weighed and produced a total weight of 3200kg. Because it was over laden by more than 20% of the GVM the accused was issued a court attendance notice for exceed mass limit. As a result the ute was towed away.
When I was doing my apprenticeship we used to have a holden FB ute and going to some of the bigger jobs way out of town the poor old ute would nearly be dragging it's rear end on the road.
I suppose the moral of that post is that if you look overloaded the authorities may well weigh your rig and fine you if you are over the limits.
If he had a caravan hitched they may have weighed it too.
