Advice for new caravan (If allowed)

This is my first log on and if this is not allowed please remove, I am thinking of selling our 2006 Jayco (black top) and upgrading to a Kakoda Admiral semi off road. Has any one on here had a Kakoda and if so thoughts please. Just want to be able to go a bit more off road than what I have been doing. Thanks.

Hi Cosmo,

Can you give a bit more insight to this van. Eg: size, weight, and goodies it comes with.

Jim

I suppose that you have googled 'Kakoda Caravan Reviews'.  There are lots of reviews there including a reference to Kakodas on this forum.  Try a search on this web site too.

ps. Welcome to the forum.

Hi Cosmo.

We picked up our new Kokoda a few weeks ago. We've been away for 1 weekend so far and are very happy with our purchase. biggrin

Value for money and the ability to customise to suit our requirements were big factors for us. Build time was a little longer than first promised, but once we picked it up all that was forgotten.

No it wasn't perfect. A satellite dish we had fitted to the roof by the builder had a short circuit in it. A return to Adelaide City Caravans for a day had it all fixed.

Two little doors/drawers under the sinks had no inserts?? confuseconfuse No idea why. Other vans we've seen had them (I suspect they were not the standard size). The dealer came up with a solution, which we quickly scrapped and fixed to suit ourselves.

Take the time to read up on Kokoda's. The business uses 2 or 3 builders. Ours was built by Skytrax in Victoria. My opinion is that they are a "new" kid on the block and they are building a value for money, Australian built, Quality product.

We have previously owned brand new Jayco & Crusader products and the Kokoda is every bit as good (if not better) as them.

Good luck with whatever you buy

Jeff
