Some scenes from Lake Benanee NSW (near Robinvale VIC)

Gday...

Lake Benanee is a 'free' camp - in the carpark of the day use area - that is a good overnight stop ... and would be OK for a couple of days if the weather is good.

Interestingly, I have only stayed three nights because of the thunderstorms, rain and wind. Today finished sunny and warm thankfully.

However, there is a 96 hour limit. Here is the report in Budget Camps sub-forum - http://thegreynomads.activeboard.com/t53624052/lake-benanee-nsw/

Here are some photos of the lake.

[edit: here's a couple of sunset photos from tonight]

Cheers - John

Nice photos of a lovely place. We stayed there for 3 nights last October. A very popular spot. It was very windy. The upper area is good but down near the lakes edge it's very easy to get bogged in the deep sand.
One night while we were there the fire brigade came & put someones campfire out. The farmer adjacent to the camp area had called them, he had hundreds of acres of dry, ready to harvest wheat across the road & was worried about sparks.
