If you are allowed to.

Many of the parks we have been in there is usually a sign says NO washing vans or cars.

Banka Banka Station about the only one outback where you can.

I have given my van a "wipe over" with a damp cloth to get it clean

I guess a bucket of soapy car wash will do it . Just a hose on its own doesn't do much ..

most caravan parks have signs up saying no washing vehicles along with quite a few in larger east coast cities with signs up in the shower blocks asking patrons not to spend more than 4 mins as water is limited - total b/s!!!!

All theyre doing is trying to save money by hoping people will actually believe it and cut down their water bills. I wont be surprised to one day go into a CP and find a sign saying 240v power is turned off at 10pm as power is precious and limited.

Obviously country and inland CP's are different and if they have scheme water is usually 4+ times the price city folk pay for the same litre or it maybe bore water

A little off the subject.
But I find that 100 to 200 ml of Kerosene in a bucket of water will give your van and your tow a nice finish. Like show room. ( Of course one has to wipe on and wipe off.)
AS a joke....... when we have visitors and I ask what would they like to drink.
If the answer is a glass of water will be fine,
The I say, water, we can not afford to give you water.
Gets a good laugh.
But yes water is becoming an expensive commodity in our lives.

Hey John. I'll try your kero recipe on our van and ute - theyre suffering from heaps of insect strikes (so will soak them first) and fine dust.

Water is definitely an expensive and in WA, a scarce resource, but it doesn't excuse CPs that charge $40-60 a night from putting up signs everywhere stopping vehicle washing and only having 4 min showers. Has nothing to do with shortages - just an excuse to make more profit per customer.

Unless I am in a water short area or a low cost CP, and see these signs - ph, my, our showers take so much longer - it must be all that fine dust LOL

Hi Bruce & Bev,

Have you tried the CT18 truck wash as yet. I have used it twice now on the wagon, and it takes the grime and soot off from the diesel well.

The instructions say its even better to leave on for a few hours and then wash off for better results.

If you had two one gallon buckets,  one the wet over ,two to wash, and you could use the third to rinse off with a second spong to help stop streaking. If they complain about you using three buckets of water you would have to wonder.

Tell e'm ,you used the water from your tanks not theirs. and top up your tanks  before going to bed.

Over in Exmouth if its raining at the Yardie CVP all the die hards including myself, all jump in their swimmers and wash like hell + the boat as its all on bore water and stains like buggery if you use it, except the drinking tapes as marked.

Its funny seeing some night owls doing the wrong thing.

Regards Jim & Lambie

We wash our van twice a year at home. People in CP's who are constantly washing & polishing their vans & cars have nothing better to do. They need to get an interest or a hobby. They waste a lot of water too. We recently stayed at Cobar CP (Outback NSW) for the night, the town is on water restrictions. The bloke next to us took 5 hours spraying his van with a Gurni gun to wash it. He went over each section at least 6 times. It wasn't even dirty to start with! shocked.gifshocked.gif

I have in the past wondered if there was no-one on the site they would likely water the lawn (if there is any) so washing the rig is using the same water they would use to water the lawn.

What be the difference I ask?

Wash car or caravan on grass , you get 2 jobs done in the one action, where I park my caravan at home is a spot where I can't get at it to wash it so always do it at a caravan park and never been told I can't wash it . The park I am in at the moment has lots of space and $230 a week

I use CT 18 for cars and van. I find its good to get bird droppings off the awning too.
