Not a bad legacy for a bloke that could only play 3 chords on his guitar & couldn't sing to save himself. Mind you there's a lot like him, take Johnny Cash for instance.

There's nothing wrong with Slim, or his singing, I knew him personally,

A great bloke, and a great friend of many people in the Out-back.

Not meant as a put down, he was a nice bloke. There are lots of ''legends of music''who weren't brilliant musicians or vocalists.

I am not game to say anyone who can carry a tune can't sing. I can't carry a tune in a bucket. But I love to sing, particularly country.
He must of had something going for him because even in country music he would not of survived so long with nothing.
Some very good friends of mine sang in the concert to open the centre.

Apparently he made over one hundred albums. Each one sounded exactly like the last one. Has anyone got the whole collection? ZZZZ.

I wonder has DD ever listened to any Slim Dusty songs. As we travel this great country a lot of his songs come to life for us. Bush Ballads are story songs and Slim was the
best story teller of them all.

We listen to John Williamson as we drive this great country he's a bit more lively & there's more variation in his songs. We once saw a Slim song emerge from behind a roadside bush , luckily we avoided it. LOL.

We got our first Slim 33rpm record on about 1958, and have liked his music ever since.  Used to see him at the Wauchope show.

I won't both visiting the centre though.  Admission prices are a bit on the dear side..........

Slim was an Aussie icon, love him or hate him, he, his wife Joy and daughter Anne provided an enormous amount of pleasure to people in the bush all around Australia.

He released over 100 albums during his recording career.
