Get ready now for thunderstorms in parts of the Midwest Gascoyne, Goldfields Midlands and Great Southern regions of W.A.

If you live in an area bounded by Carnarvon to Paynes Find to Southern Cross to Ravensthorpe to Narrogin to Jurien Bay then along the coast back to Carnarvon you need to get ready now for the thunderstorms coming tonight. 

This includes people in Denham, Kalbarri, Northampton, Geraldton, Jurien Bay, Dalwallinu, York and surrounding areas. This does not include Carnarvon, Southern Cross or Narrogin.

This is unusual weather that could cause damage to homes and make travel dangerous. 

THUNDERSTORM DETAILS: 

As at 3.12pm on Thursday 5 November 2015 the Bureau of Meteorology advises there is a risk of severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall over parts of the warning area north of Jurien Bay to Paynes Find after 11pm Thursday evening. Storms and heavy rainfall in this area will ease during Friday morning.

Severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are then forecast to develop over parts of the warning area south of Jurien Bay to Paynes Find on Friday afternoon.  

Storms may be accompanied by 

  • Strong winds
  • Hail
  • Heavy rainfall, which may lead to flash flooding.     rain104.gif

UPDATE;-  FRIDAY  6TH NOV.............

As at 5.55am on 6 November 2015 the Bureau of Meteorology advises that there is a risk of SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS and HEAVY RAINFALL over parts of the warning area NORTH of Jurien Bay to Paynes Find on Friday morning. Storms and heavy rainfall in this area are expected to ease by around midday. 

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS and HEAVY RAINFALL are then forecast to develop over parts of the warning area SOUTH of Jurien Bay to Paynes Find on Friday afternoon.
