Hello every one...not been on for a little while. We picked up the Road Star 18.6 Ft Caravan and Ford Territory Turbo Diesel.
and have been giving things away to people in need so our towing weight is below standards...got Yamaha 2000 Geni and Battery Set up and Elec Brakes all done. We are so happy and looking forward to the open road. We Will be leaving Adelaide on the 14 of November for that Australian Travel ( No Time Frame )..Fun..Hurdles..Mistakes and All. Been stuck in the Lovely Caravan park for Months now and I can not say enough. ( Get me out of here ).I do have one Question though to ask you all. Since our plans have been Tarnished a lot...Due to our Lawyers mistakes and putting us back 3 months We can not head up to Perth first...Question... If you were heading from Adelaide half way through November and looking at the weather for not to hot weather what place would you be heading. First..Free Camping Please....Love to hear from you...Kind Regards to you all and I hope you are all enjoying your travels...Karen...
Hi Karen. Troopy is right about you posting it in the wrong place. You will get a bigger response putting it in the General Section as many people don't come onto the Techos Board which is where we are now.
In case you don't know how, just copy the message you've typed above, using the right key on your mouse and then open a new topic in the General section. Type a new subject heading and then paste the stuff you copied into the body of your new Post. Sorry, if youre a computer expert and Ive just told you how to suck eggs, but a lot of people don't very computer literate are not aware of how useful copy and paste is.
A great place to find free camps through the country is in Camps 8 book - which you can buy in most newsagents or on-line. Don't buy any other than the 8th edition as it will be two years out of date, but I notice a few newsagents are still trying to sell them.
The other is wikicamps. This is a computer app which you can download for free for 2 weeks and it will be fully functional for you to play with. Then if you decide you like it, it will cost you a whole $7 a year to subscribe. Theres no advertising or other rubbish on it. You can use it to find free and low cost camps, caravan parks, dump points, servos, potable tap water and lots more. Just be aware though, that all the camps and other info has come from subscribers and there is the odd one which is wrong - but not too many. We have only hit one mistake and that was a public dump point in a NSW National Park - we knew straight away that it was wrongly located

The amazing things you see when nomading Australia
Thank you Bruce and Bev...Yep new at this..Will get better I am sure..We leave on Saturday th 14th November and ready to go...I will remember that imformation...I have down loaded the app...Thank you so much..
Wanderers Rest, Richmond NSW - opposite the bowling club, water, some power, showers, toilets, dump point, boom gates, security patrol at night. Join the club for what was $3 when we were there, get discounts at the club for meals etc., station not far away for trip to Sydney, shops very handy. Three night stay I believe, about the closest you will get to a "free" camp near Sydney. It is in Camps Australia Wide books. Excellent value.
Enjoy you travels.

Before you leave home and using your home Wi Fi download the database and maps for the States you will be travelling through and then you don't need to be connected to the internet to look up places that you are going to visit.
Every so often when you are on free Wi Fi just update the database to get the latest info in your app.
Cheers
David
I am a little cheeky .. I tend to stop anywhere .. But mainly overnight so don't ( so far) had any issue stoping over night .. If I like an area ( beach etc ) I just park like the others .. Then move not too far away on sunset .. Not upsetting the locals .. There's plenty of parking around Georges River .. Lane Cove river etc.. I worked as line inspector .. I know all the national park trails etc.. Up North there's Pye in the Sky on Pacific H/ Way , just north of Cowan.. Plenty of parks on Jersey st ( Pacific highway) Mt Colah just out of Hornsby ..
