we had ours done in Cairns. We had an Atm of 2480 now 2900 .Had the axle wheels tyres and bearings verified by trailer manufactuer then had extra spring put in be Cairns spring works all documents were then taken to engineer along with the van or inspection. he then filled out a form s7 and s12 he fitted a new compliance plate we then lodged the paperwork with qld transport _ it was not a cheap or easy exersise but we are now legal.
Foxie, I think you may be asking the question back to front. The only way you can upgrade the axle carrying capacity is to change axles, springs or wheels. I think what you are looking to do is to have the carrying capacity of your van increased. If that is correct then have a look on your chassis and see if there is a chassis manufacturers plate. If it has the weight figure on it will indicate the carrying capacity of the chassis. If not there also should be a compliance plate on the van. On that there will be a maximum capacity of the axles figure (terminology will vary.) Have a look for these and let us know what they are. There will also be an figure for the ATM and possibly a GTM figure. We will need to know these as well. With that info we can advise further what is needed to be done in Victoria for you.
