Yes there are plenty of caravan park that don't have all the bells and whistle , I never stay in in a caravan park with all the bells and whistle most of these are on the coast which cater for family which are very popular with young family who stay in cabins , But most caravan parks just have the basic but we tend to visit away from the coast and big city , But there is a caravan park for all types if you look .

We "free camp" whenever possible as we enjoy the "back to basics" lifestyle that many of these sites offer.

However on the odd time we use C/Ps, we only use those that offer basic facilities.

A couple of examples we have used recently are at Narrawong near Portland Vic. and Port MacDonnell just over the SA border near Mt.Gambier.

Both are reasonably priced, have lots of space (except in peak holiday times) and are right on the coast.

Head inland a bit and out of big Cities/Towns and you will find a suitable CVP mate. The big chains are not cheap.

Thanks guys for the ideas inland a little away from major towns good. No need to worry doug i like free camping not freewilly (catch up at greens )thanks ill take it on board Cheers

There is a company recently started up - Kui Parks - they are going to some of the smaller, friendly parks with not as many of the "attractions" of the big parks.

Usually priced under $28, offering I think it is 10% discount. Go online and check them out - I know of two cp's personally, because I have stayed in them previously.

I joined Kui in August and got my first discounted stay in Horseshoe park in Wagga.
