As Isuzu UTE Australia (and our factory) has not tested a Weight Distribution Hitch in conjunction with our tow bar, we are not in a position to either recommend or endorse the use of such a device.
That said, we do appreciate though that in some instances, fitment of a such a device may be desired however, is at the discretion of the user and not a decision we can be involved in.
Your warranty will not be voided if you fit a weight distribution hitch, however, if your vehicle suffers a failure or issue that is determined to be a direct result of the fitment of the device, your warranty claim for repairs to rectify the issue may be denied.
We notified Izuzu australia that in the CD supplied by Caravan & Motorhome magazine, the Izuzu MUX is seen towing a large caravan and the Izuzu MUX is fitted with a WDH. their comment was, you are correct in identifying that weight distribution hitches were used in the Caravan & Motorhome DVD, although this content is produced by a third-party over which Isuzu UTE Australia has no control.
Now, my complaint is being forward to the department of Fair Trading (NSW) for the Izuzu dealer for not disclosing a WDH can not be used and the ACCC for the magazine for showing false advertising.
If you fit a HR some say that HR will meet any rear suspension warranty claim cased by their after market fitment but you would be be in grey area of law trying to figure out if Izuzu may be legally entitled to back out of the entire drive train warranty. As with anything not fitted by the manufacturer or supplied by them they will not warranty any damage deemed to be caused by the item , No surprise manufacturers have a team of claim assessors on standby who delight in voiding claims.

I think you have you have got yourself a little bit confused about this. I have a 2014 Dmax with a factory fitted tow bar and use a WDH. I checked with the technical people at Isuzu and was informed that they don't recommend the use of a WDH as the have not tested them. They also informed me that it did not void a warranty. It does not void your warranty, it is simply that they will not recommend anything fitted to the car that they do not either make or supply. Should you use a WDH and it causes damage you have an action against the supplier of the WDH and or the people fitting it.
You cannot just void a warranty because someone fits something to a car. If the gearbox blew up are you saying the warranty would be void because you had a WDH fitted? I think not!
We are not confused.....we fully understand various warranty issues that could occur that is not the cause of the fitting of the WDH.
The point is, we traded a Toyota vehicle fitted with a Toyota tow bar and supplied with a Toyota WDH.....no problems.
The Izuzu dealer fitted a Izuzu tow bar, fitted all the electrical plugs etc....no problems.
When the caravan was attached the rear fell 70mm+, tow ball weight was 160kg (Izuzu state max tow ball weight is 300kg) plus the vehicle can not be driven at night because the headlights now are not facing the road, which is now unsafe to drive at night.
A WDH was fitted to level the van/vehicle which now Izuzu are saying the above.
At no time has the Izuzu selling dealer prior to the sale of the MUX disclosed a WDH could not be used.
So to fix the problem any work is at our cost and will not be covered by Izuzu warranty.
An advertising company has been showing a Izuzu MUX towing ta tandem axle caravan with a WDH fitted so it appears to be level on a CD supplied by Caravan and Motorhomes magazine....misleading advertising.
New buyers must be made aware of this issue.
