We live here in Albany and I welcome all those attending the rally .The town is buzzing and proud to host this event . Hopefully the weather is faverable and good times ahead .
Drove past the oval yesterday and saw that many motor homes have already arrived with many people setting up the grounds .
I believe that they are expecting around 800 units .

If it's anything like the one they had here at Nelson Bay, there's no way I'd go to one. Hundreds of motorhomes and campers jammed into a paddock with only feet between them. I really don't see the allure.
Edit: oops, made a spelling mistake

Yes I am an agent of Satan, but my duties are largely ceremonial.
Like others there is zero attraction for me to attend this type of event.
Everything organised by the CMCA seems obsessively controlled, power leads, pets, water fire bucket, the list goes on.
Guess it takes all types.
The CMCA used to have an excellent forum, they shut it down about 3 years ago due to constant internal bickering, there is talk of a new forum, however at the moment only talk.
On our way to Albany atm, never been to a rally before so curiosity is the reason. Enjoying the cooler weather of the south of our island as the trip down from Darwin was just a little too hot to be comfortable.

We are heading for Albany. Not ones for the crowds we have been to 3 previous rallies over 10 years, and find we are only back at camp to sleep and by then don't care about the other campers. Lots of activities happening all day and half the night. All the rules as someone commented on is all about safety regulations as required by a caravan park. The bucket of water is used instead of fire hydrants .
They work out to be a well organised, low cost week of interesting and entertaining stuff.
Would recommend for those who have not been to a rally to try one, am sure you won't regret the experience.
I've been to one rally and loved it, didn't feel crowded at all and enough privacy just by the way we were parked. As for the water bucket, I washed my hands in it and soaked dirty clothes in another bucket so no big deal. I didn't find the rules overpowering at all and I wish I could have been at Albany.
Almost in Albany & will be glad to get there. No camping signs everywhere along the coast south of Bunbury. Stopped in on the Blackwood river camp near Augusta last night $10 per person & the place is jam packed with vans & tents, wonderfull quiet spot suprisingly with so many camped here. Cold showers & toilets, & free bbq,s, can have a fire in designated spots & the river right out of the window. Bird life alarm clock at 04.30 in the morning a very pleasant wake up call.
