Have any travellers who have built a shed on a residential block obtained insurance for the shed without building a house. There seems to be a problem with this
We had a 20 acre rural block with a shed and the only company that would insure it at a reasonable price was WFI insurance company. They also insure fencing, contents and public liability. Hope this helps.
NRMA only one that would insure "buildings" on a bush block in NSW. They may also do on a block in a country town - ring them up and have an open kimono discussion.

We built our shed on the block before the house started so we could store some belongings. I was desperate to secure insurance but none of the regulars would accept us, including CBA who insure 2 other properties and contents and had done so for over 20 years. Eventually we insured the house (still under construction) and the shed with another company. I know the house was still under builders warranty but it was the only way we could get cover for the shed so it was worth a few months extra premiums. We have now transferred all our insurances from CBA. Their loss and we are saving hundreds a year for the same amount of cover.
