Lyme's Disease (From Ticks)

This article is worth a read, for both our own health and that of our pets when in the bush.

Although we shouldn't be alarmed, we should be aware.

Yeah Vic, you  have just reminded me of a weekly routine many moons ago. Up in Wyndham back in the 1940s about once a week, my Father would sit out on the top step and pull his trouser legs up. Quite often he would find a Tic on one or both of his legs. You can't pull them off, as the head is buried into your flesh, and the head will stay there and get poisoned if you pull on them. He would strike a match and heat up the end of a hand sewing needle and put it on the back (tail) of the Tic, and it would back out of it's spot on his leg.

I also remember my brother about 6 at the time had a Tic on one of his eyelids, that was a bit of drama and from memory, and it was a trip to the Wyndham hospital.

They don't look like much until you get one.

Cheers......Simmo.

That's another thing Kero is good for.  Put kero on them, and they back out of your flesh, and drop off.  Used to do that every time when I was a child.

Cheers,

Sheba.
