Hello I am a relatively new member and was invited down to the Seabird Members gathering, unfortunately my Darling is not up to traveling at the moment. Having said that I would be interested in any comments from members that did attend.

Hard work never killed anybody but why take the chance.
As the hosts at this gathering We think it went exceptionally well. We had 14 or so campers turn up, some arriving at the start of the school holidays and other trickled in over the next few days with others just coming for the actual weekend. There was lots of coffee drunk, miles of laughter, campfire most nights. worlds problems were all fixed, .No topic was out off bounds. Need a hand to sort out a problem with your van and it was done. Newbies got helped out with hints and tips.There was no expectation to do anything except to take part in the weekend activities which really only consisted of a shared tea on sat night. People went off and did the tourist bit, went to Perth, visited friends and family, slept, caught up on their washing, etc. The kettle was always ready to go on, the bickie tins were full and some came for morning tea, afternoon tea was basically happy hour and most gathered for that each day. Best of all there were NO EGOS, your bank balance (or lack of) was irrelevant as was your rig. It was just a gathering of likeminded people out enjoying what this wonderful country has to offer. This year the weather was perfect, it was just a shame that the ticks decided they liked the weather (and all the new blood!!)I think "aeroguard" was the new perfume for the gathering!! We hope everyone had a great time.
Marion and I were the 'Newbies' and had a very good time. The welcome could not have been nicer and the help more welcome! Certainly the ticks were out in force but didn't seem to show any favouritism. Unfortunately we are both still working (or as Billeeeeeee would have it supporting all the other GN's lifestyle ), so could only manage the weekend. I would certainly recommend this get together to anyone and once again give many thanks to Sue and Phil for organising it.
It was also great being able to put faces (and names!) to the other GN's.

We are part of the crew that came early, from over East. We came last year as well, and enjoyed ourselves so much, we came back.
Sue and Phil, and daughter Tracey, are fantastic hosts, making all very welcome. We met many new friends, re-connected with old friends, and generally had a great time. The shared meal on Saturday produced some delicious tastes, and was enjoyed by all.
Never know, we might even be at the next gathering!
Once again thanks to Sue, Phil and Tracey for their hospitality!
Thank you to Sue, Phil and Tracey for your hospitality and also the "group" for your company, we arrived on Thursday morning and left Saturday morning (apologies to those still in bed for not saying goodbye, didn't want to disturb your beauty sleep which doesn't seem to do much for me these days, still the same ugly bugger when I wake up).
Friday night fish and chips around the campfire was fantastic, thanks to those who organised those and the delivery from Seabird, Snapper my favourite fish. And of course to the chief fire warden Len who made sure the fire was lit and well supplied with fuel.
Here's a few shots of the event (before my battery went flat) also one Wombat took with wording;
Just like to say we're sorry we missed it yet again, another block/house sit for us south of Mandurah took presidence I'm afraid. But thanks heaps to Sue and Phil for their wonderful gesture yet again. We did consider driving up for the day but having animals to feed and care for here made this not possible. We've never met (as yet) but feel you are our type of people and look forward to popping in one day on one of our Northerly or Southerly treks.
And yes Ticks ! we have the same problem here, might be a bad year for the horrible things.
