Just thought i would pass on a little gem of a place to stop off while traveling around. We often travel further south ( normally Melbourne ) and while traveling down the Calder highway from Mildura, we travel through a little town called Sea Lake. Anyway this town has in the main street a great place to stop for a cupper, put your feet up for a short while and have a rest. This stop has male and female toilets + also a place to change a baby nappy!. Hot and cold showers, and a place off the road for big rigs. Bonus if you need to stop and let your dog out for a bit of a run as there is a football ground right next door.
Another bonus is there is also a place to sit down under shade, with a BBQ, nice fenced little garden and lawn. Stopped of there on the way back home ( Mildura ) after 5 weeks in Tassie and are amazed at what this little town has done to try and get people to stop and hopefully spend a couple of dolllars in the town. Why this stop even has a couple of tanks full of tank water made avalable for you to use.
Unshure if you could stay over night ??? but can not see a reason as to why not. This little stop is one of the better ones and worth a look at.
Its a shame other towns don't go to the trouble of setting up a place like this for people traveling through their town. One dose not mind spending a bit of money in these towns.
The Sea Lake community have done a great job upgrading the Rest Area. Yes, you can stay overnight. It's been popular with travellers for many years. Would definitely be on Wikicamps & Camps Australia Wide.
A few kms South West of Sea Lake just off the Calder Hwy but still on bitumen is Green Lake Regional Park which has an excellent small CP with all facilities but costs very little. We've stayed there many times. Nothing to do with the Green Lake near Elmore-Corop.
Victoria has 4 Green Lakes, there's another one near Horsham etc.

You may not of noticed it but it has a great quiet c/p power water showers kitchen .cared for by volunteers hose sty box $15.00. Stay there every time I go through to Mildura .
We, too, have stayed at the little Sea Lake community caravan park - excellent facilities, and $15 a night is a bargain for power and water,, walk to the shops.

valiant81, Is this the one you mean? If you go up to the top LH corner you will see a black box with "Street View - May 2015" on it. Click on that text and you will get a drop down that has a picture with a time line under it. If you click on the spots on the time line you will see a street view from that date. If you click on the little magnifying glass symbol in the bottom RH corner the large street view will change to that one. That will show how the spot has changed over the years.
Yes peter that's the one. Been living in Mildura now for 20 years and we have always stopped off there, even if only for a toilet stop!!
The reno's have been done for a couple of years now and still look good. Great place to stop off for a break, get the van off the main road and have a bite to eat.We allways spend a little money in the town as well. Last time we stopped there was jus over two weeks ago, and once again stopped for lunch. It's a shame that other towns that are bigger and also have more money don't have this infrastructure. If a little town like Sea Lake can provide this type of stop over for free, then it can only help the town by bringing in a little bit more money. Win Win all around.
