The series of ads currently being shown on TV by the energy company might be designed to be a bit tongue in cheek, but they unfairly stereotype the sort of people that use motorhomes and other RVs.
There are many people who already view "grey nomads" and other RV users as bottom feeders who sponge off the rest of society in order to avoid paying for anything wherever possible.
Just like the recent irresponsible TV ad from Holden which featured an idiot and his son towing his caravan recklessly, these ads create an unflattering image of us to the wider community.
Quite frankly, this type of advertising makes us appear to be more than just a little remedial and I find them far from funny and quite insulting.
So take note of the companies that show us in this light and avoid them.
