May's Bend free camp North of Bourke

Thinking of staying at May's Bend camping area on the Darling. Is it safe & access OK? We don't worry about a bit of unmade road. LOL. Heard that there have been a few indigenous problems in the Bourke area. It seems as though it's quite popular though.

Wanting to hear first hand opinions from those that have camped there. Thank you.

Was no problem when we were there earlier this year DD

the problems seem to mostly be in town and let me tell you Tamworth city has more issue than Bourke does these days

I would camp there again.

No problems encountered and camped there several times. Get out quick if it starts to rain. Sign at crossroad was missing last time we stayed and there were lots of tracks in at the end of the formed road. Recommend the river boat cruise that leaves from behind the Kidman camp as value for money.

We had a few days there 12 mths ago. Loved it and the town. No problems at all in the town. Great Info centre. Even has a dog minding service.
