First Trip Out

Took our caravan out for our first short weekend away just to set up and try it out.

We had trouble getting the thing hitched and un-hitched because the jockey wheel was too hard to wind up high enough and get the van on & off the tow ball. We have a slightly tall Maverick

So along comes Ol' Mate next to us with a huge van behind a R8 Commodore, I watched as he pulls out this jack thing in place of a jockey wheel and with the greatest of ease the van is un-hitched - levelled and ready.

Too easy, so Mrs V says "when we get home find one and buy it", so I did and what a difference it has made.

Not here to advertise for them just some info, it is a trail a mate jack/jockey and it can even be used to jack the van up and change a tyre (we have the jacking point behind the rear tandems) has a base plate and a jockey wheel

as a bonus it came with a wheel nut brace.

Love it when things make life easier  smile

I know its too late for you, but for other members, RACQ, (and possibly other state organisations are the same) you can get 10% discount
off what I found to be an already competitive price

I agree, nothing like the jack. We got one when we had $$$$ just after we got the caravan.

Best thing since sliced bread

Cheers
