Wondering if I have more hassles here - looks like the bushes on the front leaf springs have perished. I noticed this when emptying the water tanks last weekend in readiness for the Seabird Get together. Still havn't used the van yet
I replace ALL of mine before each trip to the west on our tandem boat trailer. Ours are only a hardened form of condute and wear our very quickly 12,000km.
Thanks for the replies folks. Guessed I would have to sort it out - for insurance reasons if nothing else. I wonder if this is the real reason for the noise we had before? Funny the guy doing the service (to supposedly remove the noise) didn't say anything so I don't think I will be going back there. Trying to get a couple of indicative quotes at the moment but most companies are staying quiet until they can see the van.
Anyone know if Ken Peachey in Belmont, Perth, any good, as he is the closest to me. Otherwise will probably have to be Absolute Caravan Repairs in Balcatta.
Sorry mate but I am not the most cluey guy re engineering (although fine with steam locomotives!). Given the tight area we have to store the caravan in those photos are about as much as I can get. I have booked the van in with Ken Peachey as he is the nearest to me (just across the river) so reducing the tow distance as much as possible. They are going to replace all bushes while they are doing the one as they are probably all the same age, and that should save on labour in the future.
Frankly I'll be glad when we finally get this van sorted and able to be used! Not all bad though as when the gentleman came to teach us towing he asked us how much we had payed and was out by around $20,000 to our benefit, so spending a couple of grand more to bring up to spec isn't too bad.
