Gday .We are trying to plan next years winter sojurn .I recall an elderly client of mine saying that up till 3 yrs ago he spent 2months a year at the above area.He indicated that it had a village type atmosphere.Would any of you that have visited the region offer an opinion please ,also the best time for a Victorian that does not enjoy humidity to visit ? Cheers John.

I have never stayed overnight in Mission Beach but have visited during the day a nice place visit not much to it although a lot of backpackers recovering from the night before. Kurrimine Beach has more sites for nomads and campers virtually on the beach.
We lived in Townsville for 37 years and occasionally had visitors from VIC during winter. Some of them hurt from the humidity even at that time of year.
If you get to Coffs Harbour and the humidity is bothering you, don't continue further north as it will only get worse.
Mission Beach with Dunk Island just 5Km offshore is very nice, but there are lots of nice areas in Australia. Enjoy the ones you feel comfortable in.

I just recieved an email from my sister who is currently in a van pk in Mission Beach.. Among other stuff she said..."phew, it is starting to get hot"!
They do stay a month or two at a time there but it must be near time to leave.
