Silver Gull Creek - Kimberley - WA

You'll need a boat or helicopter to visit this place, but it sounds like their might be tours there using these modes of transport according the the article.  See;

That sounds like an ideal life style Vic,

But I see the lease is up at the end of the year, any bets the old fella gets the royal push,

The Gov't man doesn't like anyone enjoying them selves and living the way they want to, how can they rip off someone who lives so far from civilisation  and probably doesn't pay for power, water , and all the other things  that has GST added to it,

It's a pity they can't just leave the bloke alone, he's happy there and he's built his own little corner of the world. nonono

Many years ago we did an exercise with the SAS up in the King Leopold Ranges in the Kimberley. We were choppered into our position up the top of the Isdell River
without a doubt one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We also caught black bream in little water holes with rat pack meat and safety pins
Im sure the Kimberley like Tasmania have so many wonderful spots one can only get to on foot or by chopper

Reading that made me homesick for Cape York again Vic.  Used to live that way 30 odd years ago up there.  Only difference was that people could drive in during the dry.

Used to wear nickers only, 'till we heard a vehicle coming.  Still miss it so much.   Hate the restrictions of having to live in so-called Civilisation.

Hope they let him stay there.

Cheers,

Sheba.

I think he has sort of accepted he will have to leave when his lease is up, sounds like he might be considering living on a yacht again.

No doubt some tour company will apply for the lease and take over his paradise as a commercial venture.

Those of you who have been lucky to see that area are very fortunate, a nephew in law did a stint at Kalumburu as a teacher a couple of years back, his photo's of fishing spots and other places up there were to die for.
