Although JRH (John) has told me earlier that he is not looking for sympathy or forum support for his terminal condition, it has got to the stage where he is totally bedridden now and unable to communicate with others pending his eventual demise.
He had been given until the end of the year but from reports from his wife are that he is deteriorating rapidly, is very weak and unable to get out of bed. He was determined to try to beat his terminal condition but I don't think that is likely to happen.
Although he had asked not to have this put on the forum, I think it has got to a stage where he needs all the thoughts and prayers that others can give him in his absence.
So please think of John and say a prayer for him, his wife and family if you are the praying kind.

I have never met you JRH my thoughts are with you ,my father inlaw is going through the same process it is so Bloody wrong such good people to be taken like this,I am in tears writing this I am sorry.
Im not a religious person, but my sincere feelings go out for John. I hope his passing is quick and painless and he can communicate and smile with his family until it happens

Thanks Vic; we are so glad we made the time to go & meet JRH & his wife while in WA recently. A great man & a wonderful member of this forum it was a pleasure to meet the man.
Our thoughts & prayers are with John & Irona.

I visited him at home about two weeks ago and he was not good then, but things have gone down hill from then. A sister from NZ visited him recently but had to return to NZ for work. He has a good wife and one daughter living with him at home and two other adult children living in the vicinity so has plenty of home support.
I doubt he will be reading any of this but I will see it is passed on, I am sure any thoughts or prayers would be appreciated.

I would just like to add my very best wishes to John in what is obviously a very difficult time for him and his family. Although I have never met him, ‘JRH’ has been a member here for many years and has made a massive contribution. I have always had enormous respect for his honesty and his integrity, and I hope against hope that his condition improves. Thinking of you, John.
All our thoughts and prayers are with John and Irona and that goes without saying. I only hope that by putting this up without John's permission doesn't have the opposite affect than that intended.

I do too Alvin, but will leave the decision whether to pass them on or not to his wife, he will not be viewing the forum.
I think his friends on the forum would have liked to have the opportunity to have him in their thoughts and prayers and I have struggled with this for some months as to whether to post this or not. As a close friend I decided I would, he needs to be in our thoughts and prayers.
I think you have done the right thing Vic - members on here are sometimes like family, we care for each other, I am sure John would see it that way as well.

He was taken there by Ambulance yesterday. With his wife's permission and invitation I visited him there today, his wife and daughter were there also. His condition is not good, he cannot sit up and drifts in an out of consciousness and is sometimes coherent and incoherent.
He did recognise me and I passed on the good wishes and prayers of Cindy and GN members and he understood and said to thank you all, his wife also said to thank you too. She said the Dr's said he could go at any time. He is not in any pain, just weak and frail, it was sad seeing him in that condition. I will let you all know when the inevitable happens.
