One week today.....

.....until we hit the road. The other half pulled the pin end of last financial year and I have 3 more days to work and start retirement Tuesday of next week, so getting a bit excited now. Our first trip in retirement will only be for 6 weeks as we have to be back for our sons wedding and pre wedding stuff. After that we are free to do as we want when we want. Next year will see us in WA for a few months. I just want to say how encouraging this group is and how reading your posts helped to make my decision, so I hope we run into a few of you on the road. Cheers for now.

Good luck on your journey, must admit I'm getting worried, will there be any room on the road for us when we set off, just doing up the house now ready for sale. Gosh by reading the posts it must be getting crowded out there. have a good time!

I have been retired almost 4 years, & probably spent half that time travelling or camping.

In that time I've met hundreds of people, even stayed longer than intended at some places because of the good company.

I've never met anybody from this forum, so there must be a hell of a lot more people travelling, other than the ones on here.

I remember some years back, reading there was 18,000 people living fulltime on the road. It  probably would be more now.

Cheers Pete
