Finally dad and I left home (vic) on Tuesday to finally do the big road trip to Perth.
We left Tuesday and arrived yesterday (Friday) to Swan View Perth (WA)
We are staying at the caravan park for a few days rest, scrub up and to see a little around here before our Monday appointment. Betty our RV is getting a cosmetic improvement. (Hence the trip to Perth) :)
Will add photos some shortly and the rest as I can.
We have to say so far driving through the Nullarbor and coming to Perth the experience with the friendliness of the people has been beyond words!
So many RV's and Caravans and everyone is soo friendly, waving, the cars, trucks even the fire brigade with their lights flashing and even the cops.
I have to say WA has stolen my heart so far! I have never in my entire life experienced such warmth from people and it truly has been a interesting experience all on it's own.
The land itself is unique and very beautiful. I am completely loving this trip and chuffed that I came alone with Daddio to enjoy this.
If anyone is up this way or u see us pass do give us a hoi!
We are at the caravan park until Monday early morning then we are getting Betty ready for her new look and hitting the road again for our coastal site seeing.
Will be going to see the city of Perth, Fremantle, Mandurah and all the way along the coast to Esperance.
If anyone has any suggestions of something worth seeing up this way please let us know we would truly appreciate it.
I can't wait to start being a tourist and enjoying the sights.
Happy Travels to all the Grey Nomads out there :)
Hugs
Maxx
(Photos to follow once I finish uploading them now)

Whiteman Park is not far from where you are, is worth a day visit, dogs allowed on leads or it has a special off lead dog run area.
Nice Café, Info Centre, etc, etc, two entrances, free entry. Has a Zoo (entry fee) and Car Museum (entry fee) among other things, best to go to the Info Centre near the toilets and café. Non weekends better to avoid the crowds but anytime good. One low cost museum (gold coin donation), tram or train rides on some days.
We have had a couple of GN GTG's there in the past (day picnics).
If you are a fancier of some good Wines, The Swan Valley is the place to go, Plenty of Wineries, places to stop for some good food, and a Choclate Factory to tempt your taste buds.
In a short period of time, the Grapes will be ripe and these can be purchased from the road-side stalls along the way.
Then there's Freo, with all the markets and Coffee shops, also the Freo Goal is worth a visit,
Enjoy your stay and if you want any info about this side of the Big Sand Patch, ( Nullarbour ) just fire a question here, there's bound to be someone who knows the answer.
Happy Travels.

From Coast to Coast, We'll see it all.......One Day
Hi Road Tourer,
Welcome to WA . So much to see and do. One of the must do's is the Seabird Get together!! Please check out the GT thread, would love it if you are still around to join us.
Dardanup Heritage Park is a place you could spend a whole day seeing. Check out Mr Google. They have heaps of the vintage trucks, tractors, olds pumps and sawmills actually working. Old military and space rockets, tanks, etc. Lovely cafe and places to sit and rest, and you will need to too. It is HUGE. Did you see many wildflowers between Coolgardie and Perth ? Happy travels. ... Val
Glad you enjoyed the Nulla crossing, its one of my favourites. While in Perth Old London Arcade is fantastic, lots of café, free shuttle buses around the city.
I loved Sorrento, north of the Swan River, beautiful drive, The Pinnacles a beautiful too......not sure how high your going....
Enjoy- Fran

Im a WA'er and unfortunately, Perth CBD is going the way of other large Aust cities and high rises are the thing. But there are many neat little laneways with cafes and boutique pubs, especially at the western (sea-ward) end of the city. But its great to hear you like WA. Pity youre not going North - you can spend 6-8 months up there easily !!!
Its worth visiting the Info centre to get info if you want to spend a day in the city and it has many historic buildings that are easy to find with the Info maps.
Mandurah is a satellite city of mainly wealthy retirees living in 2 story houses on canals.
But further south - WA has beautiful silca beach (sand that squeaks when you walk on it) areas and many free or low cost places you can park your 'van or M/H on so long as you have power and water. Heaps of National Parks with lakes and rivers to camp out with normal road access. And the Southern Coast is great - make sure you get to Esperance - you can go from here back onto the Nullanoor to return East. Great National Parks free camps - google them to have a look at how many are available. This is RV country and its not necessary to stay in caravan parks

Thank you everyone on your information
I have just shown your messages to Daddio
We weren't going to go north but the pinnacles sound like a must so Monday we will be heading towards the pinnacles to see and then slowly head down south. I cannot wait for Monday to come now!
We will defiantly be stopping to see places mentioned as we come back down south
Yes WA is a stunning state I'm completely in love with this place!
I know we are definitely going to do the wine area and Albany too
The chocolate factory sounds yummy enough just to imagine let alone see :)
Esperance is a must for us too
On our track home slowly we want to stop off thru the nulla for a few nights
And if we finds things as we go we will most likely stop to see it.
Thank you we will pop into the info centres and gather as much information as we can
We have planned to go to Coober Pedy too which I can't wait to see and do some noodling.
And broken hill is also a place we plan once we slowly head back but for now we just want to love this gorgeous state which has so far stolen my heart!
A true place to call home!
We are not rushing so how ever long it takes us we will embrace its beauty and sites!
Will post more as I can
If anyone knows of other ways to post photos apart from photo bucket please let me know I would love to post and share as we go
And to answer the wild flower question we saw a few but not as many most are either starting to bloom or finished.

Kalbarri is a great place to visit and a visit to Hutt River Principality is a must, google their website, very cheap on site camping and I am pretty sure dogs are ok on a leash, but best to check. Then head south. Also when coming back down go inland from Geraldton for the wildflowers etc, see the Tourist info centre at Geraldton for more info etc. And and of course the Sydney Memorial.
Thank you weevil will defiantly be looking at the wildflower festival which is coming up too
Sooo much to see here it's remarkable
I cannot wait until we hit the road on Monday
