 Good one port hedland. As we were the first to stay there when it opened a also we were interviewed by the local paper for a promo of the camp area a support for the town i find it interesting that this magazine is now doing an artical as i sent them a copy of the segment from the digital news paper a asked if they were interested in doing an artical on it;never heard a word from them.

Guess they wanted all the credit.

Hey Jim. It was the pic of you dressed like your avatar that caused to locals to complain and the free camp to be temprorarily closed down - LOL - sorry mate - couldn't resist that, and I know you've got a great sense of humour so will have a laugh !

As far as Broome goes, it will never allow free camping so long as its long term Mayor also owns the largest caravan park and some motels in Broome. Total conflict of interest

We were in Port Hedland last Sunday. Stayed at Black Rock CP $20- unpowered.

Currently camping at Newman (Information Center Car Park) $10 with both drinking water and Wifi a gold coin donation.
