Pub Book

Hi,

I have joined The Grey Nomad Forums to share and get ideas of traveling around Oz.

Firstly during a recent trip around N.S.W. Outback we met some people that had a book

about pubs and if you visited the pub you could get the page stamped or signed, something like a pub crawl.

Would any one know of this book if it exists ?

Regards Keith.

Welcome to the forum and if you find that book I look forward to reading about it

We can't help you either but it sounds like a good idea particularly with the old historic Outback pubs. We recently stayed at the campground behind the Royal Mail Hotel at Boorooban NSW.
They still had the old Cobb & Co stables out the back. Great meals, country hospitality & nice place to stay.

Hi keiththerat,
Remember seeing a couple of years back a book on iconic pubs of Australia. The title could be similar to my description. Can't remember where I saw it. But there is one somewhere. Sorry could not be of more assistance.

ps. Just google 'great Aussie pubs'

Thanks all, I have tracked down a couple of books, some quite expensive but I will do more research.

Keith.

Don't know about pubs but the info centres out far western Qld were issuing passports that you had stamped at other info centres. After you had 6 stamped entries the passport was handed in to enter a draw. The prize is fuel to the value of the fuel dockets you could produce for purchases whilst you were travelling out there.
