Intercoolers

Appreciate any advice about intercoolers for a 2004 turbo diesel troopy. Has anyone had an intercooler retro fitted to their vehicle - what is a good quality brand, approx costs and whether top mounted is the best way to go?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Regards

Peter

Peter, I have a 1986 troopy, tried to get one for it but there were none made, there was not enough room to fit it between  the rad, air condensor & grill.

I guess the 04 still has the 1HZ as i think the v8 has a cooler sitting on top.

I fitted this meth/water kit.. A little metholated  spirits ( ethanol) in water as it's easier to purchase .. About 10% meth 90% water..
Set on about 1/2 the max boost or switch on throttle ..
Fitted to mt GM 6.5 v8 diesel .. It starts and runs way better .. I'd say it's cleaned combustion chambers big time
Only comes in on
On long hills .. Used approx 1 litre on trip to SA .. I used high pressure and small nozzle to get good atomisation ..

He'd have the 1HD-FTE justcruisin, and still not enough room for the front I'd say.

Water to air are smaller .. But require a pump, tank and radiator / heat exchanger..
