Grey Nomad RV Users - Only 25% Of All Domestic RV Users....

Interesting article, I wonder if that article is based on ownership rather than frequent use over longer periods?

I think those figures would be correct if the survey was carried out in caravan parks during school holidays. If the survey was taken in the whole market it would be very different. The article is very misleading and under researched just like another further down - 'Van parks geared to Grey Nomads'.

I think those figures would be correct, if you applied the definition of nomad to all RV users in Australia. Basically a nomad is a person or groups of persons with no settled home. So, as such many members on this forum here are not nomadic, as they have permanent homes. I have braced myself, go for it!

Yes that why caravan parks near the water are putting in all the bells and whistles to attract the young people with family who have lots of money to spend and want some where to relax and kids to have fun without leaving the park and this why I go inland

Dougwe have you taken your happy pills this morning?
Your role as Chief seems to have taken a dark turn.
When did you take up this new role as the High Chief Executioner, don't misunderstand me, I think this is a very important position and needs someone with all the authority that your status on this forum affords.
I have placed an order on your behalf for a Guillotine as with the high demand for you services, stoning will be far too slow, please keep a lookout for the delivery of this important item of equipment.
As you have evidently spared me from execution last week, I am now your abject slave and will be willing to assist in the disposal of all felons that you bring forth for the final judgement.
Yours forever in making this Forum and the World a better place.
David

BTW welcome to the forum pbr seems Dougwee was sleeping on his guillotine with his rocks and rack.

I would be more interested in seeing how many caravan owners actually live 24/7 in their vans, we do and drag it around the country when we get sick of vines and vineyards. Oh we never get sick of wine. Yummo

Hope everyone is well cheers

I think they are basing the info on new vehicle sales. That's quite possibly what Weevil means too.

It wouldn't be hard to believe the majority of sales is to the under 50/50 segment. How long ago did many GN's buy their first RV?

From there on, maybe many have upgraded, but not necessarily with a new vehicle. We are on our second motorhome, neither was a new vehicle purchase so we wouldn't be in their stats. I have no doubt we are not lonely in that.
