Idea ????

I noticed when travelling out west in Queensland that a lot of Pubs seem to be struggling. What about 9 Or 18 of them put a golf hole to the back ,side ,whatever and have people call in on there way past these pubs, play one hole record your score have a bite to eat , a drink and maybe a stay over. Then at some stage do another pub and hole. They get patrons and we get a free stay over. Maybe a Certificate or Lucky draw prize every so often .. ???????  Could it work ?    ps  I've calmed down after my last post.

A very similar idea to the Nullarbor Links, the worlds longest golf course.

Each place across the Nullarbor from Kalgoorlie to Ceduna has 1, 2 or 3 holes to play, with a certificate at the end.

Seems to work for them.

Great concept but it would never work in western Qld - why?...well unlike the Nullabor with only one road, western Qld is many roads in many directions - some go to Cunnamulla or
Quilpie, Roma, Tambo and wherever......no straight line....no well worn track.
The other thing is just how many grey nomads, many on pensions, will stop at the next pub and have a bite to eat ($14 ea) , a drink ($8 ea) and maybe a stay over ($5)....could end up costing more than a night at the caravan park (heaven forbid).
It would be fun and a novelty but what those old pubs really need is b#ms on seats - shearers, agents, railway workers and travelling sales reps...the type that stay from 10 to 10 regular. Those days are gone.
Good luck.

I reckon a better idea would be to have a drink in a Pub Bar & be able to keep the glass if you pay $2 extra. Makes more sense collecting glasses than chasing a little white ball around.

Yes John, and I think the idea was that 640 Kb would be more than anyone could ever use.

I liked the glass idea till I remembered 1 of my ex wifes collected spoons. Never, ever again, spoons from acorn to becorn if you get what I mean.
