Parkerville fire W.A.: Residents launch legal action against Western Power

We wish them luck, the Authorities have been warned about the condition of power poles in the Hills, long before this fire started, nothing was done to decrease the danger, I hope they are made to pay for all the property loss,.......

Firefighters tackle a bushfire at Parkerville in the Perth Hills.

I agree. Their overview authority, the Energy Authority warned them about 5 years ago they needed to keep up with their replacement of rotten power poles - identified at about 80,00o, but they haven't.
Just a pity the senior management and directors weren't criminally responsible and were charged in the Courts.
Its the Govt (taxpayer who will pay) in the meantime these guys will still have their over priced salaries and expensive meals paid for by us. I want to see full privatizasm of the water, powr and gas corps in WA. Works better in the Eastern States

Risky area to live in, lots of ground fuel around there and surrounding suburbs.

I wonder if the nudist camp at Parkerville got burnt out too, I suppose it did.

To my mind people who choose to live in high fire risk areas like this should make very sure they have adequate insurance to cover them in case if fire damage instead of expecting taxpayers to foot the bill for their loss by blaming whoever they can.

Without being too explicit, he was sitting on a stool sorting out some electrical wires when he heard a male voice asking how he was going.  He turned his head to face the speaker (who was an official at the club) and was face to...errrrr.....an appendage complete with rings attached.....bleh   (Apologies for the OT on a serious subject).

Hey KJ. Im told that a lot of nudist clubs around the country encourage RVers to stay - I guess you become a casual member laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif

Seriously, though - many do and you don't have to strip off and frighten off the wild life.  I guess (no - I haven't looked !!) you'd google "naturist or nudist clubs in Aust) and look what they say.

Theres a couple of clubs in WA and I was told they take Nomads in - its money to support their clubs

But when a fire is started by their complete lack of action on known faulty poles somebody has to take the rap!!

My brother was he thought "well insured" but forgot to take into account the increase in cost of replacing his property over the years, end result is after the cost of cleaning up the remains of over 50 grand (may contain asbestos) he was well short to replace what he had before the fire, not taking into account those things that can never be replaced.
