Computer Problem

G'Day all,

I have been infected by I think a malaware problem.cry

I'm running Win 7, Google Chrome. I have Trend Micro and Malabytes.

The problem is "addsonline"  and some other similar ones. I've had an

expert clean the "puter, but it has all come back again.cry Every time I go

onto Grey Nomads a whole heap of tabs come up (6 or so) and all the ads

start to appear.no I am not all that 'puter savvy so any help would be appreciated.

I may not be able to get back on too easily depending on how many of these rotten things

come up, they sometimes cover the parts I want to click on.furious I'll try tomorrow morning though.

Thanks in advance.

Hi folks ..

.. without venturing in too far from a remote position, there is a small freeware/donation programme that just might do the trick for you.

I have it running in the background all the time (on windows 7) and it doesn't clash with Malwarebytes either ..

Just Google " Adfender" and download .. and see if it makes a difference .. best of luck !

(NB .. if the problem still exists, there is a good chance then that there is a resident activator (bug) in your system that is still initiating a renewal and needs to be removed/cleaned out)

You can try the add blocker on Google, here is the youtube link - www.youtube.com/watch

Contact Trend, they will help you. My 84yo mum has had wonderful help from Trend.

Cheers,
Naomi

Unfortunately you will see more and more ads appearing everywhere. You can try and block them trying different ad blockers but they soon go out of date and the ads appear again.
I gave up and accepted them, after all they pay the cost of the forum I am enjoying so by actively removing them I am doing the forum a disservice.
Now I just ignore them....they blend into the background once you accept them and life is much simpler.

Good Luck.

I was having the same problem until I uninstalled Google Chrome. A good browser but a major source of advert. pop ups. After all, that's how Google makes it's money !!  Also check in the Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, and check the list of programs. Anything there looks suspicious, uninstall it, but if you are not computer savvy as you state, ask a friend or relative who is, to check the program list before deleting anything...

As suggested download the latest version of Internet Explorer, then remove Chrome be carefully of all browsers. Don't accept the add on's.

Buy a good anti virus program like Kaspersky

If the adds are opening popup windows, you have a problem. Possibly a browser add-on. Depending on the browser you're using and what the add-on is it can be easy to quite difficult to remove it. When you do remove it, turn your windows backup (geez, what do they call it? not using windows online these days) off, so that it doesn't reappear when you turn the computer back on.

They don't open pop-up windows so it's no big deal and it doesn't worry me.  I cannot be bothered trying to remove or stop them as stated.

The way Australia is going, everyone will only be capable of earning income by selling something made in China and this will result in more and more ads...a bit like when the French said England was a nation of shop keepers because they produced little if anything.

Regards

Thanks Everyone for your help.

We think it's fixed. I was going to remove Chrome but we went into Google Chrome, tools,

extensions, and lo and behold there was an extension enabled to produce ads. My son who is computer savvy

helped me with the problem, and checked IE as well and removed some stuff off

that as well.He also put on some protection programs as well, adwarecleaner,

Hitmanpro 32 &64, & JRT. So all being well the 'puter will be good from now on.

Again many thanks for all your help.awwsmilesmileaww
