The baby q would probably do this but the kettle itself would become very hot too ! much simpler ways to boil a kettle I think.
I actually cook my eggs in a small cast iron skillet placed in the Q when having eggs and bacon as I cook the bacon on the griddle to reduce the fat content a little. The Q is basically a small oven but with the bbq griddle in the bottom. It is best for what is designed for eg. bbqing.

I agree, though I can't use cast iron utensils because of my Haemochromatosis.
I just use the microwave or electric jug.
On the very rare occasions that I don't have mains power I use a billycan/kettle on the gas stove or on a SMALL fire. I get great pleasure from seeing how small a fire I can get away with. But I still love the butane cookers despite the much touted explosion risk. Been using them for more than a decade. Still have the single burner one that my Daughter gave me in 2000 for our trip round the block.
Simple answer, yep. That said though, it would take longer and as said the kettle etc would get hit outside as well as inside probably.
Whatever you can cook or heat in a normal oven can be done in your Q. There are different methods for roasting ect than for BBQing so check that all out too. Best BBQ ever. I will never go back to a so called flat type BBQ.
I love my Q.

Heating water on a BBQ (we have a Q as well) is gas expensive and you will need a kettle that doesn't have melting parts, and remember to use a cloth to lift it off to avoid hot hands.
We use the gas stove, or an electric kettle if on 240v, or we have a single butane burner (like Cupie does), and also an attachment to screw onto the top of one of our three 9kg gas bottles (we keep a spare just for the Q). So plenty of options to make a cuppa

Reason I asked, we are having our 10th Anniversary breakfast for our bush regen group at the Cooks River cooked on my Baby Q and I wanted to boil the kettle for tea/coffee. I will take a Thermos of hot water.
