This morning at about 9-40am Queenslanders from Bundaberg to the Gold coast experienced an earthquake. At Coolum Beach in the house that we are in it felt like a very very badly unbalanced washing except for the rumble noise that went with it

Hello, i'm new here, joined last week to get information if i rent a campervan in Oz in december, i am currently in Alaska, USA, that state way way up north ya know?
Anyways we had a 6.2 earthquake about 30 hours ago, it was 180 miles away from me, it lasted about three minutes, only one vase fell and broke in the house, but it really wasn't anything, nobody panicked, there was just a short news article in the paper, nobody even talked about it at my day job. We get them all the time, hundreds per day, the only ones i have ever felt were 5.0 or higher.
But if i were on the coast or near the coastline and near sea level i could get concerned if a big one hit and created a tsunami. Funny thing is my 21 foot or 7 meter i think caravan is my emergency shelter just in case the house suffered really bad damage, another reason to be self sufficient. Cheers!
Well now I know why I missed that 2 foot putt this morning.
But if that is the case, I must experience the shock waves of a tremor every time I am on the putting green.
But no !!!! did not fell or know anything about the tremor until I read this article.
We do not need any more natural disasters in our great country.
