I doubt there would be a legal size - we've stayed in ones so tiny our Avan only just squeezed whilst others a large enough to park a B double.
If there was a legal size it would fall under local council rules I'd Imagine.
Good Luck
For what its worth. Before parting with you coin, Ask to look at the site Each and every time first....... first....... first.......... Then you can say NO Thanks OR get a better price.
We are SICK OF BEEN RIPPED OFF by GREEDY CV Park owners.
I always add an extra 4 ft to the length of my van when I book a site and tell them I want to be able to park my car on the site and put my annex out.
Makes no difference usually. Got a Big4 extra large powered site in Melbourne ($55 pn) and it took me numerous attempts to get it between the other vans there - the sites were handkerchief sized. One of the maintenance guys guided me in and commented how tight the sites are. Couldn't put out annex and I had to park my ute on another vacant site nearby. All due to lack of competition and being near to the area where RVs are built in Melbourne

It could also be, Bruce, that the park has been there for decades, designed and built when caravans were much smaller and the area where the van park was situated was not really in the middle of suburbia.
I am pretty confident it is not a recent van park, purposely, and foolishly, designed with small, tight, limited sites - just to annoy patrons.

As vans become bigger and more large motorhomes hit the road Caravan parks are having difficulty accommodating them. Solution: Build bigger and better parks.
Unfortunately Bas and Eve, with he price of land, and many not wanting to pay the prices asked to get a return from CP operators, people won't invest in new caravan parks.
This is especially so when other investment will give much better rate of return.
I think we are stuck with what we have, and in more costly coastal areas will lose more parks, as people chase the bigger money available for the land and different uses.

How about limiting the size of RV's, sounds more sensible? How much room do 2 people need? We know of people that have done ''the big lap'' 3 times in a 12ft 6in van with no troubles at all.

All very well, unless you have two adults and a bunch of kids. And some people do like a bit more comfort when they travel, while others are quite prepared to travel with a car and a couple of swags or a small tent. No, I don't have a big van, mine is 11'6" before sliding out the bead section.
Edit: The other thing is, I don't live in my van.
