Hi All, just after some valuable information. Our last van had ESC ( electronic stability control) to which we found it not too bad but after some discussions with a few suppliers and experts we have been advised to fit DSC Dexter Sway Control as it works better can be swapped from van to van and does not need uncoupling on rough or off road situation. Has anyone had 1st hand experience with both or either as we are about to order and fit one or the other as won't be without either on the road. Thanks

A friend of mine had the Dexter System fitted and he was told that the difference between the Alko and the Dexter is that where the Alko applies both RHS and LHS Brakes Simultaneously, the Dexter applies the RHS and LHS Brakes Independently from each side depending on which way the Van Sways. This sounds like a Much Better System as this is the way All Motor Vehicles are Designed to Operate even though they operate all front and rear wheels independently for ABS and Stability control.
He has yet to set off on his next trip so I will advise of more when i talk to him when he travels to see how the System operates.
Thanks Kev that's what the dealer explained that the DSC was more like ABS and that in the wet it worked so much better. Looking forward to the update. As our new van is currently being built and due for delivery late September with our first trip due over the Melbourne Cup long weekend I may be able to advise the forum of the results. Safe travels...

Seems to me the Dexter is the next generation in stability control, independent side braking as opposed to both wheels braking sounds like a better idea to me.. We have ESC so I really cant comment on the dexter, sounds like ALKO have some serious competition.
Cheers
