Camec Range Hood Downlights

Recently i have noticed at night the down lights in the Rangehood although switched off still still remain on faintly at all times as if operated by a Dimmer switch. No matter what i try the lights will not completely go out as they had done before. I am guessing that the problem may be a result of a faulty switch which somehow is allowing power to "track" to the light switch. Caravan is only 7 months old.has any one experienced a similar problem or are they able to suggest a remedy. I welcome your input, Thanks in advance.

Maybe the lights are backfeeding from some other equipment in the same circuit? Have you fitted any electrical equipment to your van recently?

Sounds like a bad switch to me. When you operate it does it have the same type of click as the two fan switches? How many other things are on the same supply fuse? Try puling the fuse out whilst the lights are on and see if it extinguishes itself. If it extinguishes then I would put my money on the switch.

Spare parts diagram.

I agree with both PeterD and troopy.

Although its not common for switches to glitch, time and sitting over greasy cooking can cause less than an open circuit when off. May be grease from the stove inside the switch causing the problem.

Buy a new switch or give it a good slosh out with Isopropyl alcohol (glasses cleaner) and let it dry over 6 or so hours in the sun.

Cheers

Yep, I was thinking the same, except that IF the switch is OK, there shouldn't be much of anything else on the circuit to seek a return back through the light (range hood fan possibly). Which is why I was asking if anything else may have been installed just prior to the fault becoming evident.
