There are a few threads on towing mirrors already. Click on the Search at the top of the page, then select advanced search. in the search window in advanced search type: towing & mirrors

you should get a few results that way.

Clear Views if they are available for your tug. Also discussed in detail in previous threads.

Clearview mirrors are THE best.

Not cheap but worth it.

I have them on my NT so they should fit an NS.

Be aware that you lose the electric fold-in capability.

Google "Clearview mirrors" and have a look at their used ones first.

Choice of chrome or black.

Choice of blinkers or not. ($50 difference and check NS has appropriate wiring for blinkers).

Easy to fit DIY; if you are handy at removing the trim on both doors.

Think it comes with a DVD for the DIY'er.

I paid to have mine fitted and seeing part of the fitting, I'm glad I paid the money because I would have mucked up the trim badly.

I couldn't justify the cost of Clearview for my old Patrol so I followed the advice of a previous thread & got some Milenco Grand Aero Xtra wide  for around $130 off ebay.

They are fantastic.  Money well spent.

I communicated by Email with the English manufacturer & they were extremely helpful & easy to deal with.

The E bay supplier was excellent too as the items were delivered by courier on time with no issues.  They arrived just as I was hitching up the van for a short trip to Noosaville.   Good price too.

We bought the quite popular ORA ROSSO towing mirrors with the suction cup strut to the door. They have been a pain in the bum ever since we bought them over 3 years ago. There's nothing like having to pull up beside an Outback Hwy, quickly jump out & run back to get your mirror off the road before a Road Train runs over it! LOL. We've spoken to many other ORA owners that are having just as much fun as we are.hmm

do the Milenko Grand Aero's fit the Toyota 70 series mirrors like these

mirrors.jpg

The reason I ask is that they have very little lip around them to grip onto.

Thanks everyone for your feedback, it's great to know of the camaraderie within the group.

there seemed to be only two options of mirrors   Clear view or Milenco due to budget constraints we will go for Milenco!

thanks again for your feedback.

cheers Rod

They are a tight fit on my 1996 Patrol, again because of the 'lip' issue.

They attach OK but I can't use the normal mirrors with the Milencos fitted because the normal mirrors are tilted up a bit & bind on the Milenco brackets.

I suppose that I could pull the (tapered) attaching clamp out a bit to clear the normal mirrors but I prefer it to have a more substantial grip on the lip & so I push it right in as far as it will go.  Pushing the clamps out to the extremities as far as they will go helps a bit too.

Thanks Cupie, I might have a look at a set and see if they look like fitting. I'm not keen on the Clearviews, too big, too ugly and way to bloody dear.. lol
