There is NO tap water available now. Council locked the taps yesterday as one of them saw someone spending half an hour filling their tanks a few days ago. The water is trucked in so a shame someone was arrogant enough to 'over use' it. Glenden is only 25 km, has town water tap at the big orange bucket rest area and has a dump as well as good shopping for basics so that is where we go for our water now.
New toilet block, cold showers.

They put lock tap on take handles off so people can't steal water , But off to bunnings to get a tool to beat the system , Some people think they are special , When heading to places like Lake Elphinstone you make sure you take enough water with you
WE were there last year for 4 days. I agree with brickies, we would never go to a bush camp even it the book says water, without having our tanks full. We filled up at Moranbah, after asking t he police where there was a tap.
Now this camp site is buggered for those who may need some water.
And they wonder why the councils are clamping down on bush camping.
Yep!!! they walk amongst us.

Last year it was a local who was filling up his tanks just as soon as the tanker left so he is likely the culprit. But then again it was some Nomads who were nicking the loo rolls as soon as they were put there.
Last Spring we stopped at a Rest Area in Outback NSW for the night. We pulled in early as it was getting very windy. There was a couple in a Bushtracker there doing their washing. They did about 8 loads using emergency drinking water from a rainwater tank.
Half of the Rest Area looked like a Chinese Laundry with washing strung up between almost every tree. A bit selfish we thought.

Update. Mine bloke here today who is going to take the tap issue up with council. It seems this land belongs to the mine and it's tankers deliver the water....... BUT - what ever the outcome let us hope that people only take a bucket full of water rather than filling their tanks. Of course - there is another story that the council locked the tanks as the water is contaminated...........

We were at St Laurence couple years ago, 7.30am, lots lined up to get water and leave. But all had to wait while one guy filled his van tanks - five x 100litre tanks!! Greed, no consideration for others, or the people who manage the free camp. Now St Laurence is $10 per night, because the very small town had a huge water bill from the campground, for one thing.
