Van Security, In the Front Yard, Rest area, or in the Bush

Recently purchased 2 wheel clamps for our van, see below, good organisation to deal with, and delivery within a week. Buying 2 or more clamps you may be able to negotiate a shipping cost discount.

Our caravan is fully covered by Insurance, but if stolen and not recovered I would need to add $XXK+ to buy the same replacement Brand/model or else purchase a cheaper van and this does not include the cost of x items that I have installed on the van and take up to 50+ hours to replace/fit.

Each clamp comes with a carry bag, I will consider putting them on the 2 spares tyres at the rear of our van, when not locked onto the road wheels, as I have seen another Van owner do. However, depending on your van design and your van loading, additional weight on the rear of your van can cause instability and cause an accident.

These clamps and a tow ball lock will not stop a determined thief, but the noise of cutting the clamps and the tow ball lock should create some interest in the area, so hopefully, you/neighbours/friends will get involved.

We also have a Tracker fitted to the van.

Re the above company, no involvement other than a happy customer

I recently bought a similar clamp. Some other similar ones still allow access to the wheel nuts/bolts. However, although mine says it's suitable for up to a 195 tyre, it's not. I've had to widen it a little with the help of a vice and brute strength. It proved very tough to bend so that actually gives me a bit of comfort.

The unit above is an easy fit to a 195 tyre.

We have one the same, it is only ever used in caravan parks and free camps as we dont have a home to park it up at. Yes they fit a 195 tyre and are a well made unit. I also use a towball lock to stop hitching and my chains are locked to the towball lock as well
