This is a new venture and is still W.I.P. The owners are obviously thinking big. It is about 3 Km to the east of Goomeri on the Wide Bay Hway and then about a Km in on the access track. There are a number of spoon drains across the track to control rainfall runoff and these might cause rigs with long overhang or low clearance to do some earthworks. Some parts of the track could get slippery in wet weather.
The camp area is on two levels. The larger upper area is about 200Mx80M while the lower area adjacent to the creek is much smaller. Both areas are flat and well grassed with gravelled access around the site. Reticulated bore water and rubbish bins are available at convenient locations and there are plenty of fire rings so happy hour can be enjoyed around a campfire. About 50 young trees have been planted
An amenities block is on site but not available for use yet, so campers need to be self-contained and have sufficient potable water.
We stayed there on Saturday night, great weather, a light breeze, plenty of moonlight and enough firewood AND we were the only ones there. If they can keep the price down after the amenities are plumbed in, and if they can keep up a supply of firewood then this camp will be a very attractive proposition. We paid $10 which I understand was an introductory price.
