well folks ended up in Bowen hospital this morning due to my so called chest infection. I have now also been diagnosed with seasonal asthma Bugger!! Anyway the nursing staff and Drs at Bowen hospital are really great so if you have to be happy about something it might as well be about these great women and men who work in the health system. Now on steroids and have to follow up with a GP in Townsville whe we are there. Moving on tomorrow to Ravenswood and the Showgrounds tomorrow. Stay safe everyone oh and stay healthy
Its not till you travel about the country areas that you realize the (generally) great health and hospital facilities in them. Mostly the medical services are provided by the local GP, or if the town is big enough, a panel of the local doctors who provide good care and know when to move the more seriously ill to bigger tertiary hospitals.
We should also recognize that many of these country base hospitals that have dedicated doctors and specialists are staffed by overseas born and trained staff - and they do a really great job !!
Copper - good to hear your health is on the mend again ))
