For years my partner and I have traveled Australia with our fur child and been staying in cabins etc.
What we have found is the places are very few and far between.
SO we decided to buy a tent which opens up to endless possibilities. We bought this great Campmor Tent and extension, however it weighs a bloody great 65kg. I have split this up into 3 bags. However it has to live on the roof rack when travelling.
My questions for the great minds out there of our age me being 62 to get these down and up I am going to need a ladder of some type etc ...........do you have any suggestions (bedsides a Caravan)
Thanks
Tez

A telescopic ladder is handy - doesn't weigh much, folds down to about a metre, available lots of places these days, but Office Works, maybe Bunnings - we got ours online from Deals Direct, at a good price - ours will take 150kg in weight.

I have an Amarok with a canopy and the roof rack sits on the cabin of the vehicle at 1.8 metres long.
I do like rockylizard idea looks real good (thanks John) and yes have been looking at those telescopic ladders.
Was even thinking of getting on of those Kayak loaders and modifying it but whoa the dollars .....................
It seems I am on the right track from what you are all saying and suggesting. Will keep you posted
Just be aware .. As we get older ... Be VERY carefully up ladders or any height.. I worked most my working years up 30ft ladders , old age catches up with us ...
