I am parked behind the Prairie Pub tonight after enjoying a lovely meal and drink in their gorgeous dining room with fellow travellers.
What an experience, Chandeliers hanging from the ceiling inside and outside, old saddles hanging on the outside fence, Old children's tricycles handing from the porch, hundreds of cowboy hats hanging from the ceiling in the pub.
The dining room has an absolutely beautiful chandelier hanging above the long table. Good to talk to other travellers about where they have been and learn from them. In fact one couple said hello when I was in Charters Towers last week and said they also saw me somewhere else along the way.
Can't forget Buffy the buffalo in the paddock next to the camping paddock.
I have taken photos but not on laptop yet. Has anyone else been here? Reminded me in a way of our stop at Middleton Pub between Winton and Boulia last year.
Did they tell you the story at dinner about the Prairie Pub Ghost? We stayed there 2years ago and sounds like nothing has changed ... Love the old pubs .... Middleton, Noccundra ...... Nindagully is OK but a bit too commercialised now .... ENJOY

No they didn't Chaslib, but he is a bit of a character. Daly Waters is another good one.
Heading back East at the moment Brickies to attend to some matters. Should be able to head west again in a month or two or maybe leave that till next year now.
Yes Sheba, I gave Daisy a hug for you. What about me, I miss out again lol
This is a great little place, woke up to the roosters crowing. Looks a bit cloudy and windy outside .
Hi! H. W. If you ever get the chance "The Imperial Hotel" in Ravenswood is worth a visit. All Red Cedar timber panelling and chandeliers in the main rooms. Very grand if it's still operating.
Another is "The Bowen River Hotel" near Collinsville and is probably older than The Nindigully Hotel on The Moonie River.
When we were there last, 20 years ago it was in danger of being lost forever fires floods vandals.
I believe it has regained it's licence and is trading again. Haven't been there for ages so all hearsay now.
All vertical slab walls and a living monument to our early settlers.
It was on the packhorse mail track from Bowen to Old Cork Homestead and then on to Adelaide in the early years.
Another interesting old pub is at Cracow, NSW ...... Hope spelt correct ..... Anyway, we camped at the rec grounds at Theodore last year $15 per night powered .... How good is that,!! We based ourself there and checked out the neighbourhood! the pub at Cracow is well worth a visit ... Great memorabilia there .... Camping available opposite the pub but not sure if paid, free or low cost. At present at Lake Cagelligo via the Rabbit Trap Hotel at Albert ... Life is good ... Sunset over the lake and wine in hand .......

Yes, they really put on a great evening and meal all at a reasonable cost! Huffy is just gorgeous and always hungry for bread ,carrots and love! Is the horse now atop the roof of the hotel? They were putting it up when we were there last year? Another good stop and great entertainment this year has just been the Mataranka Homestead Caravan Pk and lovely warm Rainbow Springs. Nice casual atmosphere, great music and fantastic whip cracking performer.
Sorry to have missed you Spida. Next time hopefully. Thank you Doug. Yes the horse is now up on the roof, photo following. Brickies, on my way back to Townsville now and doing a circuit ending up in Sapphire for the GemFest. Gypsynolmate, parking out the back is free but you are expected to buy a drink or a meal at the pub. Space is ok but with the size of your rig you would want to be early. There were 5 caravans and myself and still some room. Photo to follow with an edit.
